Why we use cookies

Cookies are very useful and perform various functions that make your browsing on the website easy and pleasant. You could say they are like "memories" the site keeps about you, helping it remember how you have navigated its pages and the choices you have made along the way.

You can navigate more easily and swiftly on a website that remembers you rather than on a website which is not familiar with your choices. That is why most of the websites you know and love use cookies.

What a cookie consists of

A cookie is a simple piece of information in the form of a very small text file. Each individual cookie is unique and consists of the name of the website that created it and a unique string of numbers and letters.

Most websites place cookies on the hard drive of your device (computer, mobile phone or tablet) when you browse a web page. This is possible from the browser – for example Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox. A cookie can only be read and retrieved by the site that created it. Sites can never exchange information with each other through cookies.

Some cookies are only valid for the duration of your visit. These "session cookies" disappear from your computer or mobile device after you close your browser. Other cookies remain on your computer or mobile device after you close your browser and are valid for a certain period of time. These "persistent cookies" are activated each time you visit the site that generated them.

What a cookie DOES NOT consist of

Cookies (as independent elements) do NOT contain:

  • Personal information – you cannot be personally identified only based on a cookie.

  • Program code – unlike a computer virus, a cookie is not composed of code, which means it is not capable of damaging your device.

What purpose do we use the cookies for?

A visit to this website may place the following types of cookies:

  • cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the sitei

  • cookies for analysing the behaviour of website visitors

  • cookies for personalized advertising

Necessary Cookies
First of all, these cookies may be necessary to ensure the proper operation of the website. For example, cookies can be used to ensure the security of the site and visitors by preventing cross-site spoofing. This category of cookies activates automatically, as it is not subject to the visitor’s consent. The site cannot work properly without these cookies.

Statistics Cookies
Statistics cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, such as the most popular pages, which method of connecting pages is the most effective, and whether users receive error messages from websites. These cookies allow us to offer users a high-quality user experience and help improve the way our website works, as well as demographic segmentation of the audience, which is further used to personalize advertising if this purpose is permitted.

Last but not least, when we integrate social network plugins into the site, they place social media cookies to enable content playback (e.g. LinkedIn), also enabling you to like or share a page or a product on your favourite social service.

Marketing Cookies
We also use cookies to enable personalization of online advertising. The use of advertising personalization cookies is a current practice of most major websites you visit. Advertising of this type helps us to reach the categories of customers interested in a certain type of product, to whom the respective advertisement is displayed. As a rule, the information about the categories that define the range of interested users is not ranged as personal data, but the profile that is created about the visitors is based on the data collected through advertising profiling cookies and thus  it is ranged as personal data. As these cookies are placed by third parties with our consent, thus the profiling (which is a processing of personal data) through these cookies is carried out by us as a data controller.

www.archivit.ro will by default only use cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the site, while the other categories of cookies can only be used with your consent.

Cookies that can be blocked from the browser

Most browsers are set to accept cookies. But if you do not want this, you can set your browser either to notify you whenever you receive a cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies.

However, you should be aware that some sections of our website will not be able to be viewed normally if you have set your browser to reject all cookies. This does not happen on purpose, but because some functions of our website cannot work properly without the use of cookies.

Information and instructions on how to edit this function can be obtained depending on your browser provider:

Mozilla Firefox І Internet Explorer І Google Chrome І   Opera І Safari

Third Party Cookies/Preference Cookies

Third-Party cookies (also known as tracking cookies or trackers) are created by "third parties" other than the website the user is currently visiting for the purpose of providing advertising services, retargeting, analytics and tracking. Basically, third-party cookies are set by advertising networks that a site may subscribe to in hope of increasing sales or page views.

Preference cookies allow a site to remember information that change based on how the site behaves or looks, such as your preferred language or the region you are in.

Pixel cookies placed by Facebook, LinkedIn and Google are among the most used third-party cookies.

Facebook pixel

It's an analytics tool that allows you to measure the effectiveness of your advertising by understanding the actions people take on your website. The Facebook pixel is used to ensure that our advertising is shown to the right people, to increase the number of sales and to measure the results of our advertising.

Social Plugins

We have integrated the following social network plugins on our website, which may independently set cookies on your computer:

  • Facebook

  • LinkedIn

Please note that we have no control over how the information collected through these cookies is used, nor do we have access to it. However, we are responsible together with the social networks for this processing, in accordance with European policies.

The plug-in provider stores the data it collects as user profiles and uses it for the purpose of advertising, market research and/or needs-based design of its website. Such an analysis takes place in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your opinion of the products in our store. By using these plugins, we give you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users so that we can improve our offer and design our website to make it more appealing to you. If you access a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser makes a direct connection to the respective provider's servers.

The content of the plugin is transmitted by the respective provider directly to your browser and it is integrated into the page. Through this integration, the provider receives information that you have accessed on the web page of our site, even if you do not have a user account with the provider in question or you are not logged in to the respective service. This piece of information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a server of the provider in question (probably located in the USA), where it is stored as a user profile and, among other things, used for advertising, research market and the design of the supplier website.

In case that, during your visit to our website, you are logged in to your user account with Facebook or LinkedIn, the respective provider can also associate your website visit with your user account.

If you do not want the plug-in provider to associate your user profile, you can select the "Deactivate third-party cookie" function in your browser settings. Thus, your browser no longer sends cookies to the special server of the social network.

More information about how social networks use your data collected through plugins can be found here:

Facebook: Politica de utilizare a datelor/Data Usage Policy

LinkedIn: Plugin Terms of Use

By using this website, you consent to the processing of your personal data in the manner and for the purposes stated above.
